Gary's therapeutic approach combines logical problem-solving skills from many years as a professional project-engineer, with compassionate counseling. Gary's counseling skills were enhanced by years of lay counseling, training, and teaching in his church. Gary has been providing professional counseling for over 10 years now. Gary's empathy for helping others work through their life-challenges has always been a personal priority.
Gary respects and values clients while they educate him about who they are and how they arrived at their present situation. He compassionately helps clients develop insight and clarity into the issues they are seeking help for. Gary supports clients in making choices towards taking responsibility in resolving their pain and/or conflict.
Gary uses an integrative-therapeutic approach, which he fine-tunes for each individual. The core is Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He integrate CBT with Object-Relations (Used to help connect emotional wounds of the past to the present), interpersonal boundary development, DBT and Mindfulness-Based tools. His approach is adjusted to individuals, couples and groups.
Gary has personally worked through a lifetime of professional, emotional, and relational challenges and has found healing, freedom and a joyful life. With empathy, he hopes to help you find the same. Gary specializes in helping clients discover their real self, while managing anxiety, depression, relationships, personality-traits, and life-stressors.
