“I specialize in Complex PTSD, childhood trauma, relationship struggles, career growth, women's issues, perinatal and postpartum transitions, birth, motherhood, divorce, parenting, grief, immigration trauma, interracial dynamics, betrayal, spirituality, racial, intergenerational trauma, attachment, self-esteem, family dysfunction, coercive control, and healing from emotional and narcissistic abuse.”

Tara is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who works from a trauma-informed, holistic perspective. She takes a compassion-focused, whole-person approach that considers the mind, body, relationships, and cultural background, and provides a safe, supportive space for clients to reconnect with their strengths and move toward healing.

Tara believes in each person’s innate wisdom and resilience to grow, and she is mindful of the cultural shame that can sometimes make seeking therapy difficult, approaching those barriers with gentleness and understanding.

Tara enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and parents and has experience with a wide range of presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma healing, complex PTSD, perinatal issues, and relationship challenges. She also works with clients navigating high-conflict relationships, infidelity, narcissistic/emotional abuse, and attachment-related struggles.

Tara has a particular focus on cultural and intergenerational trauma, immigration experiences, and guiding clients through major life transitions, including marriage, parenthood, divorce, and retirement.

Her approach is integrative and personalized, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Somatic Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory.

Tara received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University, where she trained in whole-person, biopsychosocial-spiritual care.

In addition to English, she understands Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil, which deepens her ability to connect with clients through cultural context and lived experience.
